Working with and supporting the young men and women living on the streets of Kampala has brought to light the critical issue of their often-overlooked nutritional needs. We recognize that this neglect poses a serious threat to their well-being. In response, we have developed a strategic plan to significantly increase the number of meals we provide—ensuring that their health and dignity are not compromised.

We have partnered with a church in Kampala to provide shelter for the young men and women living on the streets, creating a safe space they can call home as we work toward their rehabilitation. This initiative is a significant step in offering them stability, belonging, and a supportive environment as we guide them on a path toward self-sustainability.

There is a pressing need to provide these young men and women with proper clothing—not only for hygiene but also for health reasons. Many of them are forced to wear the same outfit for weeks at a time, which puts them at high risk of various infections and illnesses. Supplying clean and appropriate clothing is essential to protecting their dignity and well-being.

At Naah Regel Mission, we are doing all we can to provide them with essential support—shelter, meals, skills, and care. But we can’t do it alone. Skills Training Beneficiary
Edith Nakibuka always had a creative eye and a love for beautiful fabrics, but she never imagined she would one day turn that passion into a source of income. When she heard about the tailoring skills training program offered by Naah Regel Mission, she eagerly enrolled, determined to learn and grow.
In the beginning, sewing seemed challenging—getting the stitches right and mastering different styles took time. But with each lesson and the encouragement of her trainers, Edith gained confidence. She began creating complete outfits and exploring her own unique designs. Upon successfully completing the course, she was awarded her very own sewing machine—something she proudly calls her “tool for transformation.”
Today, Edith designs and sews beautiful clothing for her community. From stylish dresses to custom-made outfits, she now earns a steady income and continues to refine her craft. “Learning to sew with Naah Regel Mission gave me a skill and a future I’m proud of,” she shares. “Now, I wake up excited to create something new every day.”
